Problem: Create an emergency boot disk for windows 98

You can create a windows 98 boot disk using the windows 98 CD.

There is a program to create a boot disk at:
D:\tools\mtsutil\fat32ebd\
Where D is your CD ROM drive.

The file fat32ebd.txt contains instructions on using the program.

You can also create a boot disk by starting the install process.
When given the option to create an emergency boot disk, do so.
You can then cancel the install.

Restart the computer using the boot disk.
Check to be sure you have access to your CD ROM drive.

You can then use the FDISK on the windows 98 boot disk to create FAT 32 partitions on
your hard drive.
You will need to answer yes to the question of your wanting large drive support.
You should then restart your computer.
Then format the hard drive partitions using the FORMAT command.
CAUTION THIS ERASES EVERYTHING on your drive.
