Important: The cab file viewer should only be used to repair the windows
98 cab file view.
Install the windows 95 version but DO NOT let it update ANY newer files.
If you need to repair the icon for the cab files, it is located at
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SHELLEXT\Cabview.dll
where C:\WINDOWS is your windows folder.
You can set it by opening an explorer window and clicking on the menu
option view | folder options.
On the dialog box that opens, click on the file types tab.
Find cabinet file.
Click on it once to select it and then click the edit button.
On the dialog box that opens, click on the change icon button.
On the dialog box that opens key
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SHELLEXT\Cabview.dll
Click OK then select the folder icon by clicking on it once.
Then click OK.
Then click on Close or OK to close the other dialog boxes.
